Acts of the Apostles (Page 8)

The Church Established at Corinth
Acts 18:5-11 Paul works with Aquila and Priscilla to establish the Church at Corinth. In this passage, we have an exhortation and an encouragement. We are exhorted and challenged by the concern Paul had that he fully proclaim the Gospel.

Laboring for the Gospel
Acts 18:1-4 Paul used every opportunity he could to further the Gospel. When he entered Corinth, he began to work alongside Aquila and Priscilla as a tent-maker. This allowed him not only to minister to them and to others but also to support himself.

The Sermon on Mars Hill
Acts 17:16-34 While Paul is waiting in Athens for Silas and Timothy, he is offended by the number of idols and false gods being worshiped. He begins to speak out against them, and is challenged by the Epicureans and the Stoics.

Examine the Scriptures
Acts 17:10-15 Paul, Silas and Timothy move on from Thessolonica and come to Berea. We see the familiar pattern repeated – the persistence of the missionaries despite affliction and persecution, the good reception of some and the hatred and opposition of others.

The Gospel Comes to Thessolonica
Acts 17:1-9 Paul and Silas move on from Phillipi and arrive in Thessalonica.

Paul and Silas are Released
Acts 16:35-40 After realizing their error in imprisoning Paul and Silas unjustly, and that they were Roman citizens who should not have been treated the way they were, the chief magistrates decide to release them.

Spiritual Warfare in Philippi
Acts 16:16:24 After responding to the call to Macedonia, Paul and Silas are harassed by a fortune-telling, demon-possessed slave woman. Her owners become angry with Paul when he casts out her demon, because she was making money for them.

The Conversion of Lydia
Acts 16:11-15 Following God’s leading to Macedonia, the missionaries come to Philippi and preach to a group of women gathered for prayer on the Sabbath. Lydia is saved, she and her household baptized and she constrains the messengers to stay at her house.

Guided by the Spirit
Acts 16:6-10 Paul, Silas and Timothy continue the second missionary journey, and we see the Spirit actively guiding them, shutting up their path in some ways before opening a door of opportunity in Macedonia.

Timothy The Disciple
Acts 16:1-5 Paul continues his second missionary journey, and, finding Timothy at Lystra and Derbe, wants to take him along. He has Timothy circumcised, not as a prerequisite for salvation…

Dispute Among Brothers
Acts 15:36-41 We examine the separation that occurred between Paul and Barnabas as they contemplated the second missionary journey. We see: * The circumstances surrounding their disagreement * The disagreement itself * The resolution to the disagreement

Built Up in the Truth
Acts 15:30-35 We continue to consider the Jerusalem Council and the communication of its conclusions to the church in Antioch.
