The Lord Turns to the Gentiles

Acts 10:1-8 The Lord begins the spread of the Gospel to the Gentiles. He does this by commanding Cornelius, an Italian Centurion living in Caesarea, to find Peter and hear the Gospel from him.

Peter’s Vision

Acts 10:9-23 As Cornelius’s servants approach, Peter is in prayer on the roof at around midday. The Lord sends him a vision in order to show him he must not be bigoted against the Gentiles to whom he is about to be sent to preach.

Many Believed in the Lord

Acts 9:32-43 Peter performs two miracles of note which are recorded for us here: the healing of Aeneas’s 8-year paralysis in Lydda and the raising of the faithful disciple Tabitha from the dead at Joppa. By these amazing signs, many in both towns were converted.

Saul’s Calling

Acts 9:10-19 Having convicted Saul on the road to Damascus and struck him with blindness, the Lord now calls on Ananias to relieve Saul’s suffering.

From Hater to Hated

Acts 9:19-31 Having been converted, Saul now begins to serve God, entering the Synagogues and preaching. At first, the Jews are shocked by his transformation and the Christians are afraid that his conversion is false.

The Ethiopian Eunuch

Acts 8:25-40 We admire the Providence of God as we see the way in which He arranges for the Ethiopian to hear the Gospel and be saved. We also see that this represents the breaking down of another barrier.

Saul’s Conversion

Acts 9:1-9 While Saul was still zealous in his opposition to Christians, Jesus intervenes to awaken him to his sin. We see that: * God’s mercy is selective, for although Saul is affected, those around him are not. * Saul is not immediately converted

Simon, The Magician

Acts 8:9-13 As Philip began to preach to the Samaritans, he was entering a kingdom that was controlled by Satan. To deceive the Samaritans, the Devil had empowered a man named Simon to perform magic so that the people would follow him rather than God.

Persecution Rises

Acts 8:1-3 In the wake of Stephen’s martyrdom, we see: * The effects inside and outside the church * The escalating persecution of the church * The positive results God brought about through the persecution

The Samaritans Receive the Gospel

Acts 8:4-8 The persecution that was launched against the church scattered the disciples from Jerusalem and wherever they went, they boldly preached the Gospel. We review the account of Philip’s ministry among the Samaritans.

The Proof of the Resurrection
